Summary
In this Engle progeny tobacco litigation proceeding, plaintiff Emmon Smith alleged R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company and Philip Morris USA of fraudulent concealment of dangers of smoking cigarettes manufactured by the company, which led the plaintiff, a minister to start smoking at an early age of 13 in 1944 and getting addicted to it. The plaintiff also alleged the companies of being liable for manufacturing defective cigarettes, which caused the plaintiff Lung cancer, which was diagnosed in 1992 and for its cure the plaintiff had to get his left lung removed.
The plaintiff was represented by attorneys Richard Diaz and JB Harris. The defendant in this case R.J. Reynolds Tobacco co and other defendants were represented by attorneys Stephanie Parker, John Walker and Jordon Patterson.
