Summary

In this PCB trial, plaintiffs sue agrochemical producer Monsanto for producing the PCBs present in the Sky Valley Education Center. The 15 plaintiffs involved in the lawsuit allege that their cognitive and hormonal health problems stem from PCBs used in the fluorescent lighting and caulk of Sky Valley. Monsanto is accused of knowing the dangers of these chemicals yet continuing to use them while downplaying their risks.

Defendant Monsanto claims that the alleged cognitive issues stemming from exposure do not line up with facts, as some plaintiffs have proven that they can still receive high GPAs and snowboard despite their claims. Monsanto also provides that they voluntarily ceased the sale of PCBs years before a government ban, and that levels in the school were likely too low to cause any significant health problems.

Including $25 million in compensatory damages and $75 million in punitive damages.
