Summary

In this automotive fraud litigation proveeding, plaintiff Field Motorcars of Florida alleged Calos Kirrigin, it’s star BMW salesperson of running a 12-year ponzi scheme that cost Field over $5M. The ponzi scheme allegedly involved sales of BMWs to brokers and dealers in Puerto Rico that were made to appear as sales to end-users at prices higher by $1K-$3K than the actual sale price. Kirrigan claimed that he had done nothing improper, and that his financing arrangements were known to Field, benefitted Field, and did not harm Field.

The plaintiff was represented by attorney Ronald Schirtzer. The defendant in this case, Carlos Kirigin-Villena represented pro se.

The jury found in favor the the plaintiff on conspiracy, theft, fraud, racketeering (RICO), and unfair trade practices, and awarded damages of $2.5M.
