In this automotive product liability proceeding, plaintiffs Eileen Robinson and Todd Robinson claimed Ford Motor Company was liable for defectively designing and manufacturing its Ford Explorer SUV and its rear seat back and seat belt, which led to Eileen Robinson's serious injuries in a vehicular collision. The plaintiffs claimed that Eileen Robinson was ejected head first out of the rear windshield when the 1997 Explorer Todd Robinson was driving crashed into a guardrail just after it had stopped raining on the evening of June 23, 2002.
The plaintiffs were represented by attorneys John Romano, Odom R. Gene and Elizabeth Zwibel. The defendant in this case, Ford Motor Company was represented by attorneys Jaret Fuente and Francis McDonald.
