Chacon's family claims that this cancer was caused by Philip Morris conspiring to hide the dangers of cigarettes from the public for decades.
Representatives for Morris claim that Chacon knew the risks of smoking for years but never seriously attempted to quit smoking. Additionally, they contend that Chacon's nicotine use began in Cuba, before he had time to be influenced by US tobacco marketing.
